Targets Latest Designer Collaboration with Prabal Gurung

Target has just recently announced that they are teaming up to do a collection with the amazing Prabal Gurung. The collaboration is going to be in line with Gurung’s unique and one of a kind designs: print-heavy, modern pieces with expert tailoring for people who like to stand out from the crowd.

Prabal says,“This collection was inspired by love and if Target’s guests can feel even a little bit of the love that I felt while I was designing this collection, then I will consider it a job well done.”

This is quite a bold step for Target, as Prabal Gurung’s designs are sharp lines, modern prints, and cutout detailing.

The Target / Prabal Gurung collection will be available from February 10th, 2013 ( not sure if it will the the shores in Australia, but we can cross our fingers!).

The collection will include ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, and jewellery.

Vlieger and Vandam

Established in 2004, this extremely unique fashion accessory brand was created by a Dutch couple Carolien Vlieger and Hein van Dam.

Known around the world for their use of unusual techniques combined with superior craftsmanship and luxury materials Vlieger & Vandam have developed a unique process for embossing their now famous three-dimensional shapes into leather. Their designs include: knives, handcuffs and guns, making passersby look twice.

These designers are genius and a definite eye opener.

My only warning: don’t take these accessories to the airport...

Sara Phillips

Whilst shopping on the weekend at one of my favourite stores, I came across the brand: Sara Phillips.

In a short amount of time, Sara Phillips has burst into the fashion scene, with her digitals prints, and easy to wear clothing, all which is printed on amazing fabrics ( you need to feel it to believe it!).

So far she can do no wrong, delivering exactly what we (girls) want since the very beginning.

Keep an eye out for this girl, she is definitely going to take over the fashion world!

Dion Lee

Dion Lee is without a doubt Australia's most analytical, creative and intuitive designer. Making his runway debut at London Fashion Week this year with an impressive Spring Summer 2013 collection. The theme - geothermal mapping of the human body abstracted into print and structure.

Dion Lee's Spring Summer 2013 collection featured intricately sliced neoprene and high-visibility textiles that provided his sharp tailoring with a new dimension.

The extraordinary vibrant colours Lee used in his designs, contrasted with the base shades of black and white.

The combination of line work and structure in his work created an astonishing effect, that looked as if the models had walked straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Lee is indisputably the head of the pack in Australian fashion, and as his new collection confirms, he is certainly ready to explore the world.

It's easy to describe the appeal of Lee's designs in terms of their technical accomplishments: the geometry of the shapes; the fresh, yet unusual architectural quality of the construction, and last but not least, the way the materials are artfully deployed.

While Lee's evening wear is likely to turn heads, his simpler more subtle work is equally impressive.

Enjoy the show x
