Dion Lee

Dion Lee is without a doubt Australia's most analytical, creative and intuitive designer. Making his runway debut at London Fashion Week this year with an impressive Spring Summer 2013 collection. The theme - geothermal mapping of the human body abstracted into print and structure.

Dion Lee's Spring Summer 2013 collection featured intricately sliced neoprene and high-visibility textiles that provided his sharp tailoring with a new dimension.

The extraordinary vibrant colours Lee used in his designs, contrasted with the base shades of black and white.

The combination of line work and structure in his work created an astonishing effect, that looked as if the models had walked straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Lee is indisputably the head of the pack in Australian fashion, and as his new collection confirms, he is certainly ready to explore the world.

It's easy to describe the appeal of Lee's designs in terms of their technical accomplishments: the geometry of the shapes; the fresh, yet unusual architectural quality of the construction, and last but not least, the way the materials are artfully deployed.

While Lee's evening wear is likely to turn heads, his simpler more subtle work is equally impressive.
